4/82 – Minor in Vocal Performance, Brenau College, Gainesville, Georgia. Recipient of one-year scholarship and toured with Brenau Women’s Choir.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

8/09 – Present  – Teacher – St. Lucie County School District, Fort Pierce, Florida

Accomplishments: Currently teaching eight-grade Pre-Algebra, Geometry, and Logic at Palm Pointe K-8 under Principal Debbie Snyder.

9/93 – 5/09 – Bookkeeper, Sunrise Tractor & Equipment, Inc., responsible for all general bookkeeping functions.

Accomplishments: Responsible for inventory controls and managing over $5 million in wholegoods inventory. Managed and controlled invoicing of over $6 million a year in equipment sales.  Also responsible for general bookkeeping tasks including both payables and receivables.

8/90 – 8/93 – Teacher – St. Lucie County School District, Fort Pierce, Florida.

Accomplishments: Taught eight-grade math at Dan McCarty Middle School under Principal George Hill. Taught eight-grade math at Forest Grove Middle School under Principal Wayne Gent. Team Leader at Forest Grove Middle School.

11/87 – 7/90 – Store Manager, The Gap, Inc., responsible for successful operations of the Orange Blossom Mall store, Fort Pierce, Florida.

Accomplishments:  Responsible for all aspects of personnel management, including review of current associate performance, interviewing potential associates, payroll and scheduling. Also accountable for loss prevention, sales projections, inventory control and merchandising.

6/86 – 11/87 – Group Sales Manager, J. Byrons of Florida, Vero Beach, Florida (2/87-11/87) and Key West, Florida (9/86-1/87).

Accomplishments: Responsibilities included planning associates’ weekly schedule, participating in correcting personnel problems, conducting performance appraisals on associates and merchandising stock in my specified areas. Responsibilities also included insuring sales events merchandised properly, handling customer complaints and problems, preparing store for inventory, supervising inventory and coordinating inventory with buyers to insure maximum available stock.

Training Program (Management Trainee):

Spent ten weeks at the store level working in all departments and learning facets of sales and store operations. Worked four weeks in Merchandising Division with paperwork associated with purchasing and distribution. Also worked in Distribution Center, Merchandising Control and Credit Office to gain knowledge and understanding of all operations.

5/85 – 8/85 – Diet Counselor, Diet Center of St. Lucie County, Fort Pierce, Florida.

Accomplishments: Responsibilities included instructing new dieters on Diet Center program, counseling and assisting the weighing of dieters, conducting Image One Classes, opening and closing the center on Saturdays and general office tasks. Responsibilities also included part-time management of Diet Center product store and bookkeeping of stock status.
